Batt Russell Hedley
Sst. Russell Hedley Batt, of the Australian Military Forces, who died at Hobart last week was a member of the well-known Batt family of Sandy Bay. He was a son of the late William Batt, and a brother of Mr. F. J. Batt, the Auditor-General. He was educated at King's Grammar School and the Hutchins School. Hobart and was prominent in all sport, particularly rowing and football. The cremation took place al Cornelian Bay Chapel with military honours. The ashes were placed in the family vault at Queenborough cemetery. The Mercury 29 May 1942
