World War 11 Casualties

If you could spare a few dollars to help with the running costs of this website would be very much appreciated.

Thank you from Gravesites of Tasmania.

Bevan, William Oscar

Grew up in Ross Tasmania and was the first man from that area to enlist in the Australian Infantry Forces and the first to die in service.  He left Australia in May 1940.  Before enlisting he was employed on the Tasmanian Government Railways.  He was Secretary of the Midlands Football Association at one time and a member of many other sporting associations.

He died from wounds received in the Middle East on 13th November, 1942.  He was 32 years old.
