Burke, Donald Andrew
DIED OF WOUNDS Mr. and Mrs. J. Burke, of Green Hills Stanlcy, received word on Friday of the death of their third son, Donald Andrew, aged 25, who was badly wounded in action on July 11. A patrol went out to bring him in, but he had been picked up by the enemy. He went into camp in May, 1940, and embarked towards the end of that year and had seen service in Greece, Crete mid Libya. He was working for the V.D.L. Company when he enlisted. He is the second Circular Head man to die as a result of wounds received in action, the other, also a Stanley man, being Cliff Butler.
