Button, Victor Cyril

 

 

Victor Cyril Button was born at Hobart on the 1st January 1924. He was the son of Cyril and Jessie Button (nee Woods). He enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy Reserve on the 20th November 1941 training at HMAS Cerbrerus and Lonsdale. After serving briefly aboard Australia (11) Button was transferred to the HMAS Moreton. He drowned in the Brisbane River on Christmas Day. He was 18 years old

BUTTON.-On December 25 1942 somewhere at sea, Stoker Victor Cyril, of the RAN, eldest son of Cyril C. and Jessie E. Button, of Stanley, aged 19 years.
