FORMER DEVONPORT MAN KILLED IN MELBOURNE MELBOURNE. Sunday - Thomas Carling (18), of the R.A.A.F., formerly of Devonport, was killed last night when a motor cycle he was riding collided with a military car at Kew, Victoria. He was admitted to hospital and his leg was amputated, but he died soon after. Advocate (Burnie) 7 Feb 1944
