CHILCOTT.-On January 27, 1945, TX14609 Pte. Douglas Leonard (A.I.F.), drowned in action in New Guinea: dearly beloved eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Chilcott, North Motton, loving brother of Charles, Stella and Freda (Dec.), and loved grandson of Mrs. A. Tongs, Ulverstone. Aged 22 years 6 months. Deeply mourned. Advocate (Burnie) 14 Apr 1945
