CPL H. W. CLARK

Notification has been received by Mrs H. W. Clark of Springvale Ave., New Town, that her husband, Cpl H. W. ("Nut") Clark was killed in action in the S-W Pacific area on Good Friday. Cpl Clark was the second son of Mr and Mrs H. Clark, Risdon Rd. Before he enlisted he was a prominent member of the Buckingham Rowing'Club and New Town Harriers, and had won several trophies for rowing.  He enlisted shortly after the outbreak of war, and saw service in the Middle East, at Ceylon, and in the  S-W Pacific area. He was aged 30.
