Coombe, Allan John

 

 

Mrs Strafford Coombe 23 Raymond St., Launceston, has been advised that her youngest son Pte Allan John Coombe, 2/40th Battalion (AIF), died of illness on Oct. 21, 1943, while a prisoner in Thailand. He enlisted in June, 1940 with his brother, L-Cpl Hedley Winston Coombe, who is a prisoner in Java. Both were taken prisoners in Timor in February 1942.
