World War 11 Casualties
Cooper, Donald Kevan Born Launceston Tasmania to Andew Dresser and Madge Eileen Cooper (nee Edwards) Flt Sgt Cooper was a bank official before enlisting in the RAAF. He was serving with 100 squadron when A9-191 crashed Gili Gili after take off from Gurney Field PNG Flt-Sgt Donald Kevan Cooper, who lost his life in New Guinea as a result of air operations on October 16, was born in Tasmania, and educated at Hobart High School. He subsequently joined the staff of the Bank of New South Wales. Flt Sgt Cooper was an accomplished speaker and an ardent student of historic and foreign affairs. He was also interested in music, tennis, and cricket. His brothers, Ron and Eric, who were posted as missing for 19 months, are now reported POW’s, and his father is serving at a forward area.
