Cox, Henry Thomas
KILLED IN ACTION LAUNCESTON, Friday.-Advice was received today that Cpl. Henry Thomas (Harry) Cox, of Launceston, had been killed in action. Cpl. Cox, who was attached to the Royal Australian Engineers, was a son of Mr. W. H. Cox, builder. He was engaged with his father as a carpenter, except for six months he spent in Hobart before leaving Tasmania with the A.I.F. about Î6 months ago. He was very popular and also a good sportsman, rowing and playing tennis, lacross and badminton, A good "B" grade tennis player, he .was secretary at one time of St. John's Tennis Club. He was an excellent rower and one of the most prominent members of the Tamar Rowing Club, having being captain for a couple of seasons, and a committeeman. Ho rowed for the club in the champion senior eights. Sisters are Mrs. M. Johnston and Miss Nancy Cox; brother, Mr. Leonard Cox, and step-brothers, Messrs. Ronald and Bert Cox.
