Cuthbert, Laurie Keith

 

Leading Steward Laurie Keith Cuthbert, of Hobart, joined the R.A.N. in 1936. His first ship was H.M.A.S. Sydney. He was then chosen one of the crew which went to England to take over the Perth, and remained a member oF the crew.

He took part in the Battle of Matapan, and in the evacuation of Greece and Crete. . He was awaiting appointment to the rank of petty officer.

 He is the youngest son of Mrs. M. Cuthbert, of Queenstown, and the late Mr. R.JI, Cuthbert, and .a brother of Mrs. P. J. Blowfield, I of West Hobart.
