Davies Alfred Angus

rnBorn 23^rd May 1922 Gladstone Tasmania to Angus Alfred and Winifred Kathleen Davies he enlisted in Launceston 9^th May 1939 and was a signalman on board HMAS Perth when she was sunk in the battle of Sunda Strait.   

   He survived the sinking but was taken as a prisoner of war to Thailand where he died of Dysentery 5^th August 1943 at Retpu Camp which was about 30 km from the Burma border. 

   He is commemorated at the Thanbyuzayat War Cemetery.
