KILLED IN ACTION

Mrs. M. Davis, of Stanley, received advice on Friday that her only son, Cpl. Tom Davis, had been killed in action in New Guinea on January 3.

He enlisted at Stanley in November, 1939, and saw service in the Middle East. He was in Tobruk for 9 months during the siege. He returned home on leave in May, 1942, and transferred to the Pacific zone on rejoining his unit. Prior to enlisting the late Cpl. Davis served three years with the R.A.N. on H.M.A.S. Sydney.

In every instance -we hope- we have provided a direct link to the owners web site. We do not claim rights or ownership to any of their information. We do thank them sincerely for their efforts. We have in every instance made a good faith effort to contact and request 'reprint' permission. Nonetheless, we do want to be certain that nothing gets lost due to web site disappearance and the like, so it appears duplicated here.
