KILLED IN ACTION Mrs. M. Davis, of Stanley, received advice on Friday that her only son, Cpl. Tom Davis, had been killed in action in New Guinea on January 3. He enlisted at Stanley in November, 1939, and saw service in the Middle East. He was in Tobruk for 9 months during the siege. He returned home on leave in May, 1942, and transferred to the Pacific zone on rejoining his unit. Prior to enlisting the late Cpl. Davis served three years with the R.A.N. on H.M.A.S. Sydney.
