OBITUARY SIG W. T. DIREEN, ROSEBERY Sig William Thomas ( Mick ) Direen eldest son of Mrs Direen and the late Mr William Direen of Rosebery who was one of the most popular young men in the Rosebery district was accidentally killed in the Northern Territory on Sunday The news of his death was received with profound regret at Rosebery where he was held in high esteem for his upright character. He was 32 years of age. A few months ago he spent leave at Rosebery and was expected to be home on leave again in a few weeks. His brother George is a member of the AIF and he leaves 2 brothers and 3 sisters.Advocate Burnie 15 Aug 1945
