Elrick Alexander Edward
The Mercury 10 Sep 1943 PRESUMED LOST FLT RIGGER A. E ELRICK, RAAF Formerly of Hobart, who has been presumed lost as the result of air operations in the Bay of Biscay in January. He was previously reported missing. Flt-Rigger Elrick was the son of Mr R. T. Elrick, of Hobart, and the late Mrs Elrick. He was employed by W. Coogan and Co. when he enlisted in the RAAF in 1941. He was attached to the 461Sunderland Flying Squadron in England at the time of his death. He was a prominent cyclist, and his Tasmanian record (29s.) for the junior flying quarter mile still stands. He was also a junior member of the Sandy Bay Rowing Club.
