Fitzmaurice Errol Francis

 

 

Born 10th December 1911Detention Tasmania to Henry Angus and Mary Jane Fitzmaurice (nee Milton) he enlisted at Queenstown 14th June 1940 and was posted to the 2/40th Australian Infantry Battalion. 

He was a prisoner of war in Timor where he died 8th March 1942 from wounds received.

He is commemorated in the Galala War Cemetery.

FITZMAURICE.-2401 Private Erroll Francis, 2nd/40th Batt., Timor, dearly beloved only son of the late Henry Angus and Mrs. M. Fitzmaurice, and loved brother of Aileen (deceased) Sheila, and Kathleen. Died of wounds, date unknown. R.I.P.
