World War 11 Casualties
Green Vernon William
GREEN.-In sad and loving memory of our darling son and our brother. Sgt Vernon William (Dick) Green, who was killed in action at Buna, New Guinea, on January 1, 1943, in his 24th year. We have only a beautiful memory To remember our whole life through, But its sweetness will linger for ever, In memory, dear, of you.A precious one from us is gone,A voice we loved is still, A place is vacant in our home which never can be filled. His duty nobly done. Inserted by his sorrowing parents, Douglas and Clara Green, and brothers, Gilbert, Max, and Brendon. THE MERCURY 1 Jan 1944
