Born 13 July 1915 Penguin Tasmania to Francis Arthur and Mabel Groom (nee Ockerby)  The Mercury 30 May 1942 Died On Active Service GROOM.-On or about May 21, 1942, near Durham (England), as a result of an aircraft accident, Sgt. Rae Groom, beloved third son of Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Groom, Aberfeldie, Sulphur Creek, aged 26.
