Was the rear gunner on Lancaster W 4274 which was part of 460 squadron that took off from RAAF Breighton on the 4^th January 1943 to attack Essen Germany.

The aircraft failed to return to base

After the war it was established the plane was attacked and shot down by a nightfighter

near Nijmegen.

All seven of the crew including Sgt Harris were killed.
