OCCUPANTS KILLED

R.A.A.F. Craft Crashes

MELBOURNE, Monday. - An R.A.A.F. sergeant-pilot and two trainees were killed on Sunday, when a trainer aircraft crashed near Beech Forest (V.), on a cross-country flight

This was announced by the Department of Air tonight. It was stated ' that the cause of the accident was unknown. The aircraft was damaged extensively. Those killed were:

Sgt. Theodore William Penn (19), unmarried of Goodwood(V.)

 Leading Air-craftman John Robert Black (26) unmarried, of Newport (V.).

L.A.C. Johnston enlisted at Hobart last August. He was well known as a playing  member of Northcote Football Club, and later of the Cananore Club, Hobart.
