DEATH REPORTED

PTE M. J. A. JONES

Only son of Mrs M. M. Jones, Margate (formerly of Lindisfarne) whose death has just been reported in a Japanese prison camp in Malaya.

Pte Jones, who was employed on surveying work prior to his enlistment, was taken when Singapore fell. For nineteen months he was posted as missing. Notification of his death was obtained through the International Red Cross. His father, John Alexander Jones was killed on active service during the First World War. There are two sisters, Doreen (Mrs A. Minehan), and Mavis (Mrs S.Boxhall).
