Capt John Kaufmann

The death occurred suddenly yesterday at his residence, 15 Darcy St., Hobart, of Capt John Kaufmann. For many years he had been senior clerk at Anglesea Barracks. He joined the Commonwealth Public Service in 1910.

He saw service in the First World War with 1st Headquarters, AIF, in England and France.

In 1942 he was appointed staff captain "A," HQ, Tas. L of C Area, and held this appointment at the time of his death.

Capt Kaufmann's knowledge of military administration was a tower of strength to all with whom he worked during the war.
