Kearney Maxwell Kenneth

 
 

Rank: Private  Unit: HQ 17 INF BDE  Service: Army  Conflict: 1939-1945 
Born 2nd July 1918 at Oatlands Tasmania he was the son of George Henry and Amy Lethbridge Kearney (nee Percy). He was married and living in Caulfield Victoria and working as a horse trainer when he enlisted and was posted to the 16th Australian Infantry Brigade. Sadly, his wife gave birth to a son two months after his death.

He was taken as a prisoner of war and sent to Stalag 18A where he was eventually executed on the 7th March 1944. He was buried in the Kries Cemetery Yugoslavia.
