The following is taken from TASMANIANS AT WAR IN THE AIR 1939-1945 with the kind permission of Brian Winspear    

Disappeared near Suva in February 1944, captain of a new Catalina on a delivery flight from San Diego to Rathmines , New South Wales .  

He was born in Wyong in New South Wales in 1916 and worked at Repco in Launceston Tasmania .  In 1940, he joined the R.A.A.F. and in 1941 he married Val Briggs, daughter of the headmaster of Scotch College .  

He survived two tours flying Catalinas in the Pacific Islands , and it was while he was instructing back at Rathmines that he was sent to the United States to pick up a new Catalina.  

He was a Flt. Lt. and was awarded the DFC posthumously.
