Pte John Elliott Marshall 23 reported died of wounds received in the Egyptian campaign on July 23 was the eldest son of Mr and Mrs J.F.M Marshall of Currie King Island He enlisted In October 1939 and was among the AIF troops who garrisoned Tobruk Before enlisting he was engaged in dairy farming on his father‘s property His father served in the first AIF MARSHALL.-In loving memory of our son, John Elliott, TX424, died of wounds, El Alamein. July 23, 1942, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Marshall, King Island, and loving brother of Arthur, Sylvia, and Dorothy. -His name liveth for evermore, The Argus Melbourne 14 Aug 1942
