McCulloch Hugh John

 

Born 11 May 1917 at Ulverstone Tasmania the son of Albert John and Olive Elizabeth McCulloch (nee Smith) Hugh was a teacher before enlisting in the RAAF 

FO McCulloch was killed whilst on operations with RAF 207 Squadron over Germany on 28 August, 1943.

Ulverstone Airman Killed In Action

F-Officer Hugh John Mcculloch, only son of Mr A. J. Mcculloch, Ulverstone, and the late Mrs Mcculloch, previously reported missing after air operations on August 27, has now been reported killed in action.

F-Officer Mcculloch was born at Ulverstone, and was educated at the Ulverstone School, and Devonport High School, and graduated from the University as a Bachelor of Arts. He was a member of the Education Dept for three years, and then accepted a position as a resident master at the Caulfield Grammar School (V): He completed his Air Force training in England, and was attached to a Lancaster squadron as a navigator.

F-Officer Mcculloch was 26 years of age. Last year he married Miss Marjorie Brittingham, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. F. Brittingham, Elsternwick (V).
