Lost In HMAS Perth Disaster

It was announced in Canberra this week that the death must be presumed of Ldg Steward Thomas Leslie Alick McKenzie, of ll Livingstone St., South Hobart.

Ldg Steward McKenzie was a member of the Australian cruiser Perth, which was lost in the Java Sea on March 1, 1942. He served with the vessel during the battle of Cape Matapan and the Greece evacúation.in the Mediterranean before he was transferred to the Netherlands East Indies.

He was educated at St. Virgil's  College, Hobart.
