Airman's Death from Illness

Advice has been received that Ft Sgt Grantham Stanhope Maclaine died recently in Salford Royal Hospital, Manchester England, after illness.

F-Sgt Maclaine was educated at the Launceston High School, and subsequently was employed by Messrs Wise,Lord, and Ferguson, accountants, Hobart. Enlisting in the RAAF during 1941, F-Sgt Maclaine trained in Australia prior to proceeding to England for duty in November, 1943. He was aged 23, and has four brothers--Lt A. G. Maclaine, Sgt G. S. Maclaine, Sig K. A. Maclaine, and Pte F-Sgt Maclaine

F-Sgt Maclaine was the third son of Mr G. S. Maclaine, formerly of Clarke Island, and

Now living at 28 Hillside Crescent Launceston.
