Born 24 March 1905 Warwick Street Hobart Tasmania to Samuel Albert Palamountain and Ella Mary Ann Sidebottom Archie was a motor mechanic by trade before he joined the RAAF. The Mercury 4 Apr 1942 FOUR R.A.A.F. MEN KILLED MELBOURNE Friday-Four members of the R.A.A.F. were killed and nine injured, including a W.A.A.A.F., when an Air Force tender overturned after the rear offside tyre blew out on Prince's Highway,1½ miles on the Laverton side of Werribee at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Three were killed outright and one died early this morning. The victims were:-Killed: Leslie S. Nunn, William K. B. Dyer, Byron Matuschka, and Archie Palamountain. injured: Lisa Yvonne Dawson, Leslie Archibald, Anthony Eric Edward Sedgley, James Hubert Veall, Athol Gorden, James Gill, Norman Jellicoe Skinner, William John Linnett, James Harold.
