Tas. Paybook photograph of TX241 Corporal Cecil John Pedley, 2/1st Machine Gun Battalion, Australian Infantry. Corporal Pedley, aged 28, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 25 May 1941. He was the son of Joseph Arthur and Helen Margaret Pedley, of Dunorlan, Tas. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 12. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency.
