If you could spare a few dollars to help with the running costs of this website would be very much appreciated.

Plunkett Harold David

Mr R. Plunkett of Molesworth has been notified that his son, Cpl Harold Plunkett, died in Siam on Aug. 8, 1943 while a prisoner of war. He was aged 24 years.

Cpl Plunkett was a member of the 2/40th Battalion, and was taken prisoner in Timor. Prior to his enlistment he was attached to the staff of the New Norfolk Post Office. He was a prominent member of the New Norfolk football and cricket clubs, and one of the most promising cricketers in the Derwent Valley.

We have in every instance made a good faith effort to contact and request 'reprint' permission. Nonetheless, we do want to be certain that nothing gets lost due to web site disappearance and the like, so it appears duplicated here.
