Launceston Man Killed in Action

Mr L. W. Rattray, 60 Carlisle St., Launceston, has been advised that his son. AB Noel Audrey Rattray, a member of the crew of HMAS Australia, has been killed in action. Born at Launceston on Dec. 25, 1923, AB Rattray was educated at the Charles St. Practising School and Launceston Junior Technical College, and was an enthusiastic amateur cyclist. He enlisted in July 1940, and served in the Mediterranean with HMAS Hobart. He was in the Singapore fighting, and later was with HMAS Hobart in New Guinea and the Solomons. Early this year he was transferred to HMAS Australia
