Ryan Mervyn William

Born Lilydale Tasmania to William Thomas and Ellen Franklin Ryan, Pte Ryan was a farmer living in Launceston when he enlisted in the AIF.

The Mercury 25 Oct 1943

Mr and Mrs W. T. Ryan, of Mowbray, have been advised that their younger son, Pte Mervyn Ryan, has been killed in action. Pte Ryan served also in the Middle East, where he was wounded. Before enlistment in the AIF he worked at Lilydale.
