Salter John Arnold
OS John Arnold Salter, a member of the crew of HMAS Perth, which was sunk in the Java Sea Battle on March 1, 1942, has now been reported killed in action in the engagement. Previously he had been re- ported missing Advice to this effect has been received by his parents, Mr and Mrs E. J. Salter, of Maydena. He was their eldest son and was aged 21 years.
