Shalless Alan Merris Born Hobart Tasmania to Percival Curtis and Elsie Leigh Shalless, Flying Officer Shalless was working with the Defence Coordination Department when he enlisted in the RAAF. He was attached to the RAF 24 OUT when he was killed in an air accident. The Mercury 12 Nov 1945 SHALLESS.-Pilot-Officer Alan Merris, beloved eldest son of Lieut and Mrs. P C. Shalless, and brother of Ralph (A.Í.F.) and Geoff (A.M.F.) aged 21 years, killed m aircraft accident England, July 23. (Tasmanian and Sydney papers please copy.)
