Smith Arnold Charles
Born 14th April 1925 Penguin Tasmania to Alma John Charles and Elvenia May Smith he was a farm labourer and woodcutter when he enlisted in the AIF and was posted to the 58/59 Battalion. He was killed in action on Bougainville Island and is commemorated at the Bomana War Cemetery KILLED IN ACTION Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith of Coroneagh Street Penguin have been advised that their youngest son Pte A. C. Smith TX9082 was killed in action on May 19. Smith had previously been reported missing. The Advocate 19 June 1945
