Smith Eric James

Born 10^th September 1915 and was with the 2/40 Infantry Bn when captured by the Japanese and sent to work on the notorious Burma-Thailand railway.

On the 14^th July 1943 he was one of three prisoners of War at Hintock that died that day of cholera.  They were later cremated with with Padre Headly conducting the service.
