Stamford Oscar Clarence
Capt. O. C. Stamford The death occurred suddenly at his home, Florence St., Moonah, yesterday, of Capt Oscar Clarence Stamford at the age of 59 years. A returned soldier of the First World War, he was a member of the permanent military forces. Capt. Stamford was a foundation member of the Southern Tasmanian Trotting Club, and was a member of the committee until the war started. About two years ago he was appointed a life member. Until a few months ago he was the club's starter. He was a member of the Trotting Owners and Breeders' Association, and represented that body on the Southern Tasmanian Trotting Association. He had owned a number of trotting horses at different times, Including Sandy Roy and Loco Derby. Capt. Stamford had attended to his military duties yesterday morning and later died while listening to the radio. Death was due to natural causes. The Mercury 5 May 1942
