Flt-Sgt G. J. Suter

Mr and Mrs A. F. Suter, Mary St., Launceston, have been informed that their younger son, Flt-Sgt Geoffrey J. Suter, died of illness in me Middle East on Wednesday.

Flt-Sgt Suter was educated at Launceston High School, and entered journalism on the literary staff of the "Examiner" in 1932. He was on the staff of the "Telegraph, Brisbane, for a year, and returned to the Examiner," wher he was employed when he enlisted in the RAAF in 1942.

He completed his training as an observer in Canada, and served in the United Kingdom. For the past 10 months

He had been serving in the Middle East.

Flt-Sgt Suter was closely interested in aviation before the war, and wrote extensively on the subject for aviation papers. He was a keen student of journalism, and while abroad took every opportunity of studying the practice of his profession. He was an active member of the Australian Journalists Association, and a member of the Northern Tasmanian Sub-District Committee.
