If you could spare a few dollars to help with the running costs of this website would be very much appreciated.

Thank you from Gravesites of Tasmania.

Viney Cyril Charles

Cyril Charles Viney was born at Margate Tasmania the son of Robert and Ruby Holyrod Viney (nee Johnston) on the 8 Mar 1915 at the Edinburgh Hospital, Hobart.

Flt Sgt Cyril Viney was the pilot of Wellington Z1212 which was detailed to bomb Kassel Germany on the 27th August 1942.  Nothing was heard after takeoff and the plane did not return to base.  It was advised later than the plane was attacked by three night fighters over Holland – the petrol tanks were damaged and the controls shot out and air bomber W.O. Munckton was the only one that had time to bail out before the plane crashed.
