Watkins Guy Edward

Born 21^st July 1920 with parents living at Pipers River Tasmania , Guy was a Sub Lieutenant with the R.A.N. serving on H.M.A.S. Matafele when he went missing with the loss of his ship.

H.M.A.S. Matafele left Townsville on the 23^rd June 1944 carrying stores for Milne Bay . Five days later she was requested by radio to report her position and the estimated time of arrival. No response was received. A search was undertaken but she was not located. Assumed she founded with the loss of her entire crew
