Watkins Guy Edward

 

Born 21st July 1920 with parents living at Pipers River Tasmania , Guy was a Sub Lieutenant with the R.A.N. serving on H.M.A.S. Matafele when he went missing with the loss of his ship.

H.M.A.S. Matafele left Townsville on the 23rd June 1944 carrying stores for Milne Bay .  Five days later she was requested by radio to report her position and the estimated time of arrival.  No response was received.  A search was undertaken but she was not located.  Assumed she founded with the loss of her entire crew
